Letter from our Chairman

December 4, 2009

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to wish everyone the Best during this Holiday Season and a Happy New Year too!

Last year was a very tough year in many respects…Mother Nature was not kind to us! Rain, rain, rain, and more rain coupled with winter damage to several of our greens took extensive work and most of the summer to restore. These conditions decreased the number of green fees, which obviously affected revenue. On a positive note, the rain kept our irrigation expenses down and the Board was able to monitor other expenses in our budget as well.

There were, however, some bright spots that we can reflect on. We had a sizable increase in our Memberships, a new tee box for the ladies on the 6th hole, a new aerator and power brush for the greens, 14 old stumps were removed, improvements to the rear of the Pro Shop, and an ugly, rusted flagpole was painted. Some of the projects being planned for the near future include a parking area next to the 9th tee for carts and opening the area on the left side of the maintenance building for Members’ carts. This will open up more parking where the Member’s carts are currently parked.

In light of the current economy, The Board has been diligently working to keep our costs down so that we may keep the membership prices affordable. However, there will be a very slight increase of about 2 ½ % over last year. A Senior Membership will increase from $395 to $405, a Couples Membership will increase from $739 to $758, and a Family Membership will go from $799 to $818 if paid prior to FEBRUARY 1st , 2010.

We hope everyone is looking forward to 2010 with optimism, enthusiasm and great expectations. Please tell everyone about our beautiful course, the great food in the Clubhouse, and about our friendly Members and employees. One great way to start is to make use of the 50/50 Copley Cash Deal between April 15th and May 15th. If you bring in a new member and that person purchases a Senior Membership for $511 both parties will receive $50 in Copley Cash. The only requirement is that this person has not been a member for at least 2 years.

In closing, I would like to remind you to please enter your e-mail address in the space provided on the membership application. Also, if you know of someone not on our mailing list or anyone that did not receive our e-mail, please refer them to our new website (www.copleycountryclub.com) for further information.

Sincerely,

Tad W. Lamell
Chairman, Board of Directors
