New Business

Article 1) Shall CCC change its financial operations from a fiscal year ending 8/31 to a calendar year ending 12/31

Article 2) Shall Annual Meeting for year ending 12/31/08 be held the 3rd Sunday in May @ 3:00 PM in Copley's Clubhouse

The Board of Directors at Copley Country Club would like to address the need for a change in our current Fiscal Year.

Reasons:

1)      To reduce the difficulty of cash flow predictions with the year ending in mid-season.

2)      With the actual Golf Season running April 15-October 15, we actually begin our yearly income in January with the receipt of   Membership income. Our income period from seasonal activities ends October 15. We think it would be a clearer portrayal of our actual fiscal year.

3)      With our seasonal year ending in October, and with the change in our year ending to December 31, the Board and Managers would have time necessary to make expenditure decisions. With our fiscal year ending mid-season we are forced to make these decisions by August 31. With the ever increasing economy, these decisions need to be made with a clear forecast and the time needed for complete review of the current year’s financial activities.

Ladies League 2007

Report for Final Meeting

September 15, 2007

Dear Copley General Membership,

Carol Bradley and I wish to thank all the ladies who participated in the league this year. We also thank Brad for all his assistance through out the season, Carol and Gary for their wonderful dinners, Abby and Tammy who ran the Ladies Member Guest Tournament this year, and Stella for her assistance with the Match Play.  The year has gone by incredibly fast and we feel it was another successful season.  We had 26 loyal participants this year and look forward to the return of our “intermittent” weekly guests next year.

A quick recap:

Ladies Member Guest in July, was again a big success, with 36 participants.  Tammy and Abby did a fantastic job and fun was had by all.  The chipping contest was a big challenge and a new option.  The event paid for itself again and the small balance remaining was donated to the Clarina Howard Nichols Center.

Match play was won by Becky Doherty for the individual match and by Polly Manosh/Barb Keily for the doubles play.

Weekly play:

Carol determined there were 13 weeks of play, that excluding the few rain cancellations we had this year.   The celebratory year end dinner was on Thursday, September 6th and was attended by 22 members.  Fun and prizes were distributed then.

The standings were as follows with the criteria set by Brad that you had to be present at 50% of the events to qualify.  Here’s how it ended up:

1st         +7 pts               Marsha Mongeon                                   $50.

2nd        +6 pts               Sue Cano                                              $40

3rd         +4 pts               TIE – Cynthia Borck & Annie Miller          $35 each

4th         +2 ˝ pts           TIE – Val Hollis & Polly Manosh              $30 each

5th         +1 pt                 Carol Bradley                                         $25

6th         +1/2 pt              Suzanne Manosh                                   $20.

Also decided at the year end party, Carol Bradley will continue to run the Ladies League 2008 with the able assistance of Sue Cano and Barb Keily.  I have relinquished the position due to my new job in Bennington.    Also, the Ladies Member Guest will be run next year by one of this year’s new members, Cynthia Borck.  Stella also agreed to coordinate the match play again next year.

Financial Account:

The year ended with a small balance of $31 in the Ladies League financial log.  This will roll into next year, as of this report.

Our thanks to you all.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year and wish everyone a healthy and prosperous winter.
